Movement of dangerous goods by road, air and sea

Road transport and DGSA service

  • Organisations who carry dangerous goods by road may need to appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA)
  • Appointment of a DGSA may also be necessary if your company is involved in packing, loading, filling or unloading of dangerous goods.
  • ReFaC offer general consultancy on dangerous goods issues plus a formal DGSA service.

ReFaC are able to perform the three main duties of the DGSA on behalf of your company:

  • Monitor compliance with rules governing transport of dangerous goods by road.
  •  Advise on transport and associated activities with respect to dangerous goods.
  • Prepare the mandatory report describing company-specific handling of dangerous goods.

ReFaC’s experience is particularly relevant when companies are required to appoint a DGSA but do not wish to bear the cost of a full time employee.

Multi-modal transport

  • Dangerous goods transport involving different modes requires specialist guidance.
  • ReFaC's Technical Officer is qualified to advise on transport of dangerous good by road (ADR), air (IATA) and sea (IMDG).
